Thanks for choosing STEPIN. By signing up or otherwise using the STEPIN service, websites, and software applications or accessing any content or material that is made available by STEPIN through the Service you are entering a binding contract with the STEPIN entity indicated at the bottom of this document.
The STEPIN Service includes social and interactive features. Use of the STEPIN Service relies on several technical requirements.
Please read the Agreements carefully. The Agreements include information about future changes to the Agreements, export controls, automatic renewals, limitations of liability, privacy information, a class action waiver, and resolution of disputes by arbitration instead of in court.
Governing Law. Our Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Norway, applicable therein without reference to any conflict of laws principles under which different law might otherwise be applicable.
2. CHANGES TO THE AGREEMENT
Occasionally we may, in our discretion, make changes to the Agreements. When we make material changes to the Agreements, we’ll provide you with prominent notice as appropriate under the circumstances, e.g., by displaying a prominent notice within the Service or by sending you an email. In some cases, we will notify you in advance, and your continued use of the Service after the changes have been made will constitute your acceptance of the changes. Please therefore make sure you read any such notice carefully. If you do not wish to continue using the Service under the new version of the Agreements, you may terminate the Agreements by contacting us through the Customer Service contact form.
3. AGE REQUIREMENTS
In order to use the STEPIN Service and access the Content, you need to (1) be 16 or older, (2) have the power to enter a binding contract with us and not be barred from doing so under any applicable laws, and (3) be resident in a country where the Service is available. You also promise that any registration information that you submit to STEPIN is true, accurate, and complete, and you agree to keep it that way at all times.
4. LICENSES COST
Basic Admin License for Schools
To be able to use the STEPIN Basic Admin – for PC and MAC users – you need the basic admin license for schools. This license will give you access to all the features of STEPIN. If you do not have a license please reach out to us
Faculty License for Teachers
STEPIN Faculty License – For PC and MAC users – The service is constantly updated with all features and functions available. The user will be visible in the Admin panel and may book their own temps. Full access to temp base, access to internal resources and full overview over your temps is included.
All temporary workers use STEPIN free of charge.
5. RIGHTS YOU GRANT US
In consideration for the rights granted to you under the Agreements, you grant us the right (1) to allow the STEPIN Service to use the processor, bandwidth, and storage hardware on your Device in order to facilitate the operation of the Service, (2) to provide advertising and other information to you, and (3) to allow our business partners to do the same. In any part of the STEPIN Service, the Content you view, including its selection and placement, may be influenced by commercial considerations, including agreements with third parties.
If you provide feedback, ideas or suggestions to STEPIN in connection with the STEPIN Service or Content (“Feedback”), you acknowledge that the Feedback is not confidential and you authorize STEPIN to use that Feedback without restriction and without payment to you. Feedback is considered a type of User Content.
You grant STEPIN a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, perpetual (or, in jurisdictions where this is not permitted, for a term equal to the duration of the Agreements plus twenty (20) years), irrevocable, fully paid, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, make available to the public (e.g. perform or display), publish, translate, modify, create derivative works from, and distribute any of your User Content in connection with the Service through any medium, whether alone or in combination with other content or materials, in any manner and by any means, method or technology, whether now known or hereafter created. Aside from the rights specifically granted herein, you retain ownership of all rights, including intellectual property rights, in the User Content. Where applicable and permitted under applicable law, you also agree to waive any “moral rights” (or the equivalent under applicable law) such as your right to be identified as the author of any User Content, including Feedback, and your right to object to derogatory treatment of such User Content.
6. USING STEPIN
Summary of the Service
STEPIN AS is an online service that connects schools and temporary workers. When you create a profile, you need to register your mobile phone number, E-mail, picture and your name. To work with schools all temporary workers need to be approved by the school administration, have contract with the school and provide a certificate of good conduct issued by the police. STEPIN have no responsibility for the work being done.
All schools will have access to an administration portal and can on behalf of all teachers request a new temporary worker. In the admin panel you will have access to statistics, edit the temp. base and teacher base.
All teacher has to download the STEPIN app in AppStore or Google Play store. Inside the app they have access to request a temporary worker.
All Temporary workers has to download the STEPIN app in AppStore or Google Play store. . Inside the app they have access to set up when they have time to work. The teachers or the school will ask for their availability through the app. We recommend that you keep your schedule updated at all time.
7. DEVELOPMENT AND UPDATES
Development and code
STEPIN will be updated continuously and is always up to date. As the end user of the service STEPIN provides you will never have to think about version numbers and new realizes.
STEPIN will not inform in advance when we update the service.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Ownership and Proprietary Rights. STEPIN shall retain all right, title and interest (including without limitation all patent rights, copyrights, trademark rights, trade secret rights and other intellectual property rights), associated with the Services and Products provided.
Modification of Services and Products. STEPIN is entitled to modify, amend and in any way, change the Services and Products whether in content, nature or otherwise by providing a reasonable information in writing and/or make an amendment to this documentation of the service.
End User Rights. Customer/End User may not decompile, reverse engineer and use the STEPIN product for the purposes other than for its internal business.
9. CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Inside the app and on the STEPIN web page you can, at all time, reach out to the STEPIN team through the “chat with us function”. We will at all time strive to answer your request as soon as possible.
10. TERMINATION / CLOSURE OF AGREEMENT DUE TO BREACH OF CONTRACT
Temporary workers must send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to stop their subscription – STEPIN will then remove the temporary worker within 2 weeks.
STEPIN AS may terminate the agreement with immediate effect by a material breach by the customer. If the customer does not pay by the due date specified in the payment notice, STEPIN AS can terminate the service. STEPIN AS may also terminate the service if the customer’s credit card cannot be charged or if the customer is abusing the service.
11. LIABILITY AND FAULT SITUATIONS
The service can sometimes be dependent on network services being available when you want to execute a trade. The customer or the merchant must ensure either mobile coverage or coverage through a wireless network for the service to work. STEPIN AS cannot be held responsible for the lack of network coverage. Should any other deviations occur, you must inform merchant’s staff of this. This includes theft of mobile device when you are visiting merchant. You will be held responsible for purchase transactions until you have notified the merchant. The merchant will then block your STEPIN account upon giving them your phone number and proof of identity. Your bank is free to block future transactions as part of its security policy, should this occur is a matter between you and your bank. In some cases, you will then be able to remedy the situation by contacting your bank.
All communications related to handling of booking a temporary worker is ensured through encryption. For your own safety, we encourage you to always have the latest updates for your phone installed. We also encourage you to install antivirus and firewall software for added protection of your cell phone. You agree to use the «Lock screen» on your mobile device to prevent any unauthorized purchases on your behalf. In addition STEPIN has a personal code, which you will be prompted to use if inactive more than 15 minutes.
13. CONFIDENTIALITY, STORAGE AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
STEPIN has a duty to maintain secrecy about the customer’s use of the service. If the customer consents such information can yet be disclosed to other parties. When STEPIN is legally obligated by court, prosecutors or other public authority, your customer info will be disclosed. The collected customer data may be distributed to merchants who use the service, for static purposes or to other third parties in non-identifiable, anonymous form. If there are important changes of our service offerings, we will contact you by sms or email.
AMENDMENT OF CONTRACT PROVISIONS
Agreements and conditions may be amended or terminated as a result of public orders, regulations, or other circumstances STEPIN cannot control.
14. WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER
We endeavor to provide the best service we can, but you understand and agree that the STEPIN service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without express or implied warranty or condition of any kind. You use the STEPIN service at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, STEPIN and all owners of the content make no representations and disclaim any warranties or conditions of satisfactory quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Neither STEPIN nor any owner of content warrants that the STEPIN service is free of malware or other harmful components. In addition, STEPIN makes no representation nor does it warrant, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any third-party applications (or the content thereof), user content, or any other product or service advertised or offered by a third party on or through the STEPIN service or any hyperlinked website, or featured in any banner or other advertising. You understand and agree that STEPIN is not responsible or liable for any transaction between you and third party providers of third party applications or products or services advertised on or through the STEPIN service. As with any purchase of a product or service through any medium or in any environment, you should use your judgment and exercise caution where appropriate. No advice or information whether oral or in writing obtained by you from STEPIN shall create any warranty on behalf of STEPIN in this regard. Some aspects of this section may not apply in some jurisdictions if prohibited by applicable law.
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
